Kathmandu, Jan. 15: Church Boys United blasted goals past the Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) goalkeeper when the two teams met in the first game of Match Day 10 of the ANFA U-16 Youth League on Tuesday. CBU won the game by a score of 11-1 at the Satdobato-based ANFA Complex Ground.
CBU started scoring from the fifth minute as Aashik Syangan scored the first. The game was 1-0 until the 40th minute, but by the time the first half ended, the score was 4-0 thanks to Sanil Magar’s goal in the 40th followed by two goals from Aayush Rai (45' and 45+1')
Rai, who scored two goals in quick succession, was however not on the ground in the second half. He and Paskal Basnet were subbed out for Karan Chaudhary and Rajdip Titung at the beginning of the second half by assistant coach Sujan Basnet.
Chaudhary went on to score a hat-trick (55', 76' and 86') while Syangtan scored his second in the 64th. Nishan Tamang, Sanil Magar and Sushan Thapa Magar also scored one each for CBU. The only consolation goal for TAC came in the 79th minute through Abhishek Khatri.
Likewise, Satdobato Youth Club (SYC) also registered a win in the U-16 League on Tuesday. SYC defeated Himalayan Sherpa Club (HSC) by 1-0. The goalless game saw the decider come in the 66th minute through Aayush Khadka.
On the other hand, ANFA Women’s League Final Round saw Nepal Police Club defeat Waling Municipality by 4-1. It was the fifth game in the Final Round for Waling; they lost all five of them.
Police led by 3-0 in the first half as Niru Thapa, Anuska Sherpa and Puja Rana scored. But with two minutes left, Dhana Bohara scored an own goal and took Police’s lead to 4-0.
NPC coach Bhola Nath Silwal made four changes when the squad returned in the second half giving exposure to emerging talents. Thus, Police did not score more goals with a fresh squad. However, it gave an opening to Waling and Yashodha Kumari Chiral scored the consolation goal in the 85th minute.
The U-16 League has two fixtures – Khumaltar vs Police and Friends Club vs APF – at ANFA Complex which will be followed by the Women’s League Final Round fixture between Bagmati and APF.
