Kathmandu, Dec 28: Former Justice at Supreme Court, Prakash Wasti, passed away last evening.
He was 71-year-old.
Late Wasti's younger brother advocate Gajendra Wasti informed that the former Justice was admitted at Norvic Hospital, Thapathali, after cardiac arrest. He breathed his last while receiving treatment.
The late Justice's son, Dr Prabin Wasti, is currently in the US. He is scheduled to arrive in Nepal by Sunday morning. The family has planned to conduct late Wasti's last rites at Pashupati Aryaghat after the arrival of son Prabin.
The lifeless body is now kept at hospital.
The former Justice is lived by a spouse, a son and three daughters.
He had worked as an additional Justice at Supreme Court for six years.
Following his retirement from Supreme Court, he worked as a Member of the National Human Rights Commission for six years.
An avid reader of law and justice, he was involved in research and writing as well.
Born on Asar 8, 2010 BS, Wasti had embarked on legal practice since 2033BS.
He became senior advocate in 2065BS and continued his study and writing on corruption control, civil law and development of legal system.
He has authored numerous books.(RSS)
