Police constable shoots himself in workplace at Kanchanpur

Kanchanpur, Dec.28: Around 21-year-old police stable Chakra Prasad Neupane employed at the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, shot himself in the head with a pistol inside the office on Friday evening.

Neupane, who shot himself in the head, is undergoing treatment at a Nepalgunj Medical College Teaching Hospital (NGMCTH), Kohalpur in Banke district. 

According to Kanchanpur District Police Office Deputy Superintendent of Police Umesh Joshi, said that the health condition of the injured police constable is stable.

DSP Joshi said, "A gunshot sound was heard in the management branch. Neupane was there alone and was bleeding from his head after shooting himself in the head." 

The injured was immediately taken to the Mahakali hospital soon after receiving news of the incident. 

As treatment was not possible in Mahakali Hospital, he was then taken to Kohalpur in Banke through Dhangadhi in Kailali. 

Deputy Superintendent of Police Joshi said that an investigation is being carried out about the reason behind the police stable pulling the trigger in his head.
