'Dharan Cultural Fair to motivate youths for self-employment'

By Nisha Rai, Dharan, Dec 10: A 10-day cultural fest has been organized in Dharan with a view to motivating youths for self-employment through their skills and abilities.


Krishna Rai, a resident of Daran sub-metropolis-15, who has been organizing one-day programme as chair of the Nature Club to motivate youths for constructive works, said that this time the 10-day fest was held to orient youths for self-employment instead of seeking foreign jobs.


Our fest will prioritise local products while also focus on preservation and promotion of local cultural," said Rai.

 

He viewed that the local level programmes can attract local youths and motivate them to think about self-employment on the basis of their skills and capacity.

 

In the fair, local, organic cuisine such as Mekhe, Chamre set, Chowmein, Momo produced by the youths have been put for sale in the stalls, which can boost youths' confidence in their skills and motivate to open up their business.


Rabina Rai, an entrepreneur in Dharan-15, expected that the fair will promote to brand her domestic product of Sukuti Ko Achar, dried meat pickle.


This fair has helped me a lot to brand my product as I have been selling here local cuisine such as Momo along with dried meat pickle, chowmein, leg soup, steamed potato with spices, she shared.

There are 50 stalls in the fair and most of the stalls are operated by the youths.
