Bhaktapur, Dec 20: The Bhaktapur Hospital is preparing to operate CT scan machine soon. The Ministry of Health of Bagmati Province, has already purchased a machine for Rs 80 million. After the construction of a new building, the hospital is planning to bring the CT scan machine into operation within month.
The Hospital's Executive Director
Dr Sumitra Gautam said that construction of the building was in the final
stage. She said that the hospital is bringing the CT scan machine into
operation from this month after 120 years of the establishment of the
hospital.
The hospital is building a
one-storied building to exclusively run the CT scan machine. The patients
should not visit the private hospitals by paying high cost for the CT
scan.
Likewise, the company itself would
carry out the maintenance works of the CT scan for a decade and would also
provide papers for the CT scan machine.
Bagmati Province Health Minister
Kiran Thapa said that the Bagmati province government is going to bring the CT
scan machine into operation at a cost of Rs 80 million and a mammogram machine
would also be operated at a cost of Rs 11 million.
He said that installation of a
mammogram machine would help screen and confirm breast cancer for women.
It is said that the province
government has already arranged skilled human resources to operate and handle
the machines. (RSS)
