By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Dec. 16: Glory Media honoured distinguished personalities with the ‘National Pride Award’ amid a programme held at Rastriya Nachghar on Sunday.
They were honoured for their important contributions to different fields.
The award ceremony was organised by Glory Media to commemorate 15 years of its programme ‘Sachetana’, broadcast on Nepal Television.
The Rising Nepal Daily’s Renuka Dhakal and Gorkhapatra Daily’s Sukreet Nepal and Nepal Television’s cameraman Ashok Kumar Basnet were honoured with the ‘National Pride Award.
Dhakal was honoured with the award and a cash prize of Rs. 5,000 and Nepal was honoured with a certificate and Rs. 10,000. Likewise, Karki also received Rs. 5,000 with the award.
During the ceremony, several eminent personalities, including Urmila Shrestha, Vice President of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce, Chairperson of the Nepal Women Chamber, and CEO of Salt Trading Corporation Limited, senior paediatrician Dr. Harikrishna Baskota, Prem Lal Maharjan, Chairperson of the National Consumer Forum and Suprabhat Bhandari, Chairperson of the Guardians Federation of Nepal and others were honoured.
Additionally, individuals from various fields were recognised, including Brajesh Kumar Jha, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Salt Trading Corporation, Dipak Neupane, a trade and finance management expert, author and literary figure Anish Ghimire, Mohan Katuwal, Vice President of the Federation of Small and Cottage Industries Nepal, Pralhad Dahal, President of the Nepal Dairy Association, writer and creator Shiva Neupane, international fashion choreographer Rojin Shakya and others.
Speaking at the event, Urmila Shrestha expressed her belief that such recognition would inspire everyone to move forward with greater strength. “I believe this award will serve as a source of motivation for the benefit of our society and nation,” she added.
The event was held on Sunday during the Glory Teen and Kids Talent Competition.
