Nepali Peacekeepers Safe in Syria, says Nepal Army

Kathmandu, Dec 9: All the Nepali troops deployed in Syria under the United Nations peacekeeping mission are reported to be safe.     

The Nepali Army issued a press release today to share that the Nepali peacekeepers deployed in Syria are safe.     

The Islamist rebel group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) has taken control of Syria. On December 7, the armed group forcibly entered the 10-A security post in Hadar, where Nepali peacekeepers are stationed under the United Nations' "UNDOF" mission.     

According to NA, the Nepali peacekeepers stationed in various locations including in 10-Asecurity post are in a safe condition. "The condition of Nepali peacekeepers in various locations under the United Nations Mission in Syria is normal", adds the release. (RSS)
