Youths bogus disability aid paper for easy money

Khotang, Dec.3: The area police office Aiselukharka has arrested two youths begging while posing as deaf and mute. 

Two youths were begging in the streets of Aiselukharka Rural Municipality by showing the forged paper endorsed by the Village Executive of Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality mentioning to support the differently abled Dipendra Kumar Sharma of Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality, Gorkha, and Santosh Kumar Sharma. They were arrested by police on Monday. 

According to the Information officer of the District Police Office, Mohan Adhikari, the identity of two fraudulent is 19-year-old Ajay Ram Chamar and Jitendra Ram Chamar of Gadhimai, Jeetpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City-5. 

He said, "There are nine wards in Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality. The 'financial help paper' that they have shown for asking for help mentions them to be from ward 11. In the letter, it is written that they are deaf and mute by birth however, they are talk and hear. Therefore, we have arrested them proceeding with further inquiry."

There is signature of ward chair on November 25 in the paper that they use as 'financial aid paper for differently able. However, there is no name of the ward chair in the recommendation paper.

According to the police, an investigation is underway against both the arrested persons for the offense under the document crime of forgery by the Khotang District Court with an extension of three days remand. 

Forgery in Nepal is when a false document or a part of a False Document or Electronic Record is created to cause harm, injury, or damage to the public for Private Benefits or Benefits of Others.

Police recovered different documents, and bogus photos of the patient, Rs 17,760 from the alleged defendants. 

According to the police, it was seen that those who were arrested took a maximum of Rs 1,000 as support from one person.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Prateek Bista said that an investigation has been started against both of them who were arrested in the case related to fraud and forgery.
