Kathmandu, Nov 30: Nepali young kickboxer Abiral Ghimire aka Himalayan Cheetah, has been honoured by Bagmati Province Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Suraj Chandra Lamichhane and Minister for Youth and Sports Min Krishna Mahajarnan at a program organized by Mixed Martial Arts Association (MMA) here today.
Currently residing in Japan, Ghimire a resident of Gurjudhara Balambu, Chandragiri Municipality-12was honoured for becoming the first ever Nepali boxer to win the World Kick Boxing Championship.
He won the International Kickboxing (ISKCA) tournament organized by the International Sports Kickboxing Association at the Nagoya Congress Center on October 26. He defeated his rival Antonin Marconi from France to become the World Champion.
On the occasion, Chandragiri Municipality Mayor Ghanashyam Giri, Administrative Officer Hemraj Aryal, Deputy Mayor Basanti Shrestha, and Spokesperson Krishna Prasad Khadgi also felicitated Boxer Ghimire. (RSS)
