Kathmandu, Nov 28: The Investment Board Nepal has approved investments in several hydropower projects.
The 60th meeting of the Board, held at Singha Durbar on Thursday, decided to approve investments of Rs 70 billion in the 341-megawatt Budigandaki Hydropower Project, Rs 23.59 billion in the 106-megawatt Jagadulla Semi-Reservoir Hydropower Project, and Rs 47.54 billion in the 210-megawatt Chainpur Seti Project. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli chaired the meeting.
The meeting also extended the term for the 327-megawatt Upper Marsyangdi project and Samrat Company Pvt. Ltd. As per the meeting decision, the capacity of the 750-megawatt West Seti Project is to be increased to 800 megawatts.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister urged relevant bodies to work in coordination to create an environment conducive to investment. He also informed the meeting that the draft of the Board's strategic and professional plan has been prepared, and discussions with stakeholders are ongoing. (RSS)
