By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Nov 28: Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Urban Development Prakash Man Singh has said that there are multiple challenges in the field of Science, Engineering and Geoengineering in Nepal.
Speaking at an inauguration program of the international conference series of Nepal Geotechnical Society- Geotechnique for sustainable infrastructure in Kathmandu today, Singh said, "There are many challenges in the field of science, engineering and geotechnics in Nepal”. He said, “The objective of the conference is very relevant in the circumstance of impact Nepal has been facing due to global warming and climate change”.
DPM said, “Nepal has been suffering due to unplanned urbanization, encroachment of river bank, imperfect engineering architect, lack of design criteria and construction's techonology”.
He added, “I hope that this international conference will become an appropriate platform for our youths and Geo-technical engineers and Geo-scientists to learn global technoloy and sustainable development”.
Convener and President of Nepal Geotechnical Society (NGS) Mandip Subedi has informed that there will be more than 150 representives from 25 countries.
