Best Nepali player in NPL to get a car

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Nov. 27: The best Nepali player in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) will be getting a car from Omoda & Jaecoo, a leading Chinese automobile manufacturer, through SPG Automobiles, the authorised distributor for the Chinese company in Nepal.

The decision was announced by Paras Khadka, secretary at the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), amidst a MoU-exchange programme on Tuesday. Now, Omoda & Jaecoo has officially joined the NPL as the ‘Driven by’ partner.

“Yes, the best Nepali player of the Siddhartha Bank presents NPL will be getting a car of Omoda & Jaecoo. We thank the Chinese company alongside SPG Automobiles of Sharada Group for their support to the league,” said Khadka.

While the duo have signed only a one-year contract, Paras and Gaurav Sharada, director at Sharada Group, hinted that the relationship might continue for more years.

“Sharada Group is always trying to give back to the community as a part of our CSR. We have now tried to support cricket, a sport that inspires millions of Nepalis and beyond. We expect to continue our relationship,” said Gaurav.

Meanwhile, the two authorities did not disclose the model of the car to be provided to the best Nepali player. “It will be announced soon,” said Paras.

It has only been around seven months that SPG Automobiles have brought the cars of Omoda & Jaecoo to Nepal.

Action Sports gets YouTube rights

Action Sports has acquired the YouTube rights to broadcast the inaugural edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL). The agreement was signed between Brand Logic, which manages the commercial rights of the NPL, and Dish Media Network for the live digital broadcast of the games. 

Viewers can watch the NPL games live on Action Sports' official YouTube channel. Additionally, the tournament matches will be aired on television by Star Sports Network. 

The tournament is scheduled to take place from Mangsir 15 to Push 6 at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.

Janakpur gets title sponsor

Janakpur Bolts has signed a title sponsorship deal with DNA International Nepal Pvt. Ltd. on Tuesday. DNA International is a premium clothing brand established in 2016.

During a ceremony held in Kathmandu, Niroj Khatiwada, General Manager of Janakpur Bolts, and Anup Ghimire, Managing Director of DNA International, exchanged the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Additionally, marquee player Aasif Sheikh and head coach Pubudu Dassanayake jointly unveiled the official jersey of Janakpur Bolts at the press conference.
