Swiss Ambassador pays courtesy call on Lumbini's CM Acharya

By Diwakar Pokharel, Deukhuri, Nov.22: Swiss Ambassador to Nepal Danielle Meuwly has paid a courtesy call to the Chief Minister of Lumbini province, Chet Narayan Acharya. 

The ongoing support from the government of Switzerland for the development and prosperity of Lumbini province was discussed in the meeting that was held on Friday at the office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers in Deukhuri, Rapti Valley. 

Saying that since the provincial level of government is progressing towards becoming self-sufficient, he said that cooperation with donor agencies is necessary, and support is needed in the development of social sectors and infrastructure development during this period. 

It has been seven years since the establishment of the provincial level of government and its coming into effect. 

The provincial level of government is on the way to self–sufficiency. 

He said, "There is a need of all kinds of helping hands. There is a need to continue the support provided by the Swiss government at the provincial level. Construction of suspension bridge, construction of concrete bridge. Technical assistance needs to be continued."
