Postpartum mother airlifted from Humla

 Simkot (Humla), Nov 16: A postpartum mother with an infant of 20 days was rescued from Adanchuli rural municipality of Humla yesterday. 

Jhupa Chhatyal, 20, from Karagai village of Adanchuli-5 was airlifted to Surkhet Hospital after the treatment to postpartum hemorrhage was not possible at a local health facility, according to chief of Health Service Office, Dr Patikshya Bharati.

Chhatyal fainted after excessive bleeding. Although she was rushed to a local health post for treatment, it was not possible due to constraints of medical workforce and equipments. So, coordination was made to the stakeholders to rescue her from life threatening condition.

The President Women Upliftment Programme has been rescuing the needy women as pregnant and postpartum women from remote districts of Karnali including Humla. (RSS)
