By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Nov. 14: The fifth Gddeneral Assembly of the Nepal WUMA Kung Fu Association convened on Wednesday and elected a 15-member central committee led by Sanjeet Kumar Rai.
Rai, a founding member and the vice president of the association, was unanimously elected as the leader. He has an impressive record, having won two international gold medals and one bronze medal.
Rai secured gold at the World Martial Arts Championship in 2022 in Slovenia and at the Battle of Dragon Martial Arts Championship in 2024 in the United States. Additionally, he has won two consecutive gold medals at the National WUMA Kung Fu Championship and serves as a jury member for both national and international tournaments.
All other executive members of the association were also elected unanimously. The vice presidents elected are Ramesh Maharjan, Siddartha Lama Tamang, Munni Subedi Tamang, Rajdish Nemkul, Bhupendra Gurung, and Animishlal Shrestha.
Kamal Magar was elected as the general secretary without opposition, while Krishna Kumar Magar and Surya Tamang were elected as secretary and treasurer, respectively. The newly elected central committee also includes Guna Gurung, Ratna Thapa Rana, Roji Shrestha, Sherbahadr Gurung, and Sujan Kashyapati.
