Kathmandu, Oct. 24: The main opposition CPN (Maoist Centre) has announced to organize a demonstration raising contemporary political issues.

Organizing a news conference at the party central office in Paris Danda on Thursday, CPN (Maoist Centre) Vice-Chairman and party Spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota said the mass mobilization event was announced to pile pressure on the government for ensuring speedy relief and rehabilitation schemes to the disaster-hit people besides raising the contemporary political issues.

Likewise, booking to the culprits in connection to the misappropriation of cooperative funds, a search for the people missing in the disasters, treatment to the injured and relief to the deceased families, temporary settlement for the affected ones and other agendas are the top priorities of the Maoist Centre in the mass mobilization.

Sapkota said that the Maoist Centre has announced to organize a mass mobilization on October 26 in Kathmandu.

Prior to this, the party had submitted a memo to the government on behalf of the opposition parties.

According to Sapkota, the agitation was aimed at creating public pressure for good governance, social justice and economic prosperity while further strengthening the constitution and democracy.(RSS)
