Rajdevi temple being decorated for Dashain

By Laxmi Chaudhary,Janakpurdham, Oct. 3: Rajdevi Temple situated in Janakpurdham is being decorated for the upcoming Dashain festival. The temple that holds great historical, cultural and religious significance is being decorated with colourful flowers and lights for the Dashain festival.

The Temple Management Committee has made arrangements for special decorations to make the temple a centre of attraction for tourists. This year, the Committee has made a special plan to decorate the temple right from its main entrance to its innermost sanctuary. 

Colourful lights, electric bulbs, flickering lights and flower garlands have given a beautiful look to the temple. 

The temple premises are specially decorated using garlands of different flowers. Local flowers as well as attractive plastic flowers brought from different places are used to adorn the temple.

During Dashain, especially on the day of Maha Ashtami and Maha Navami, a large number of devotees visit the temple. Special worship is performed to Goddess Durga, the symbol of strength and courage during Dashain. Thousands of devotees visit the temple and perform special worship wishing for the well-being of their family members. Likewise, special preparations have also been made to manage the crowd of devotees and strengthen the security arrangements during Dashain. 

A special police team will be deployed on the temple premises. Rajdevi Temple Management Committee and Mahabir Youth Committee Chairperson Ajay Kumar Gupta said that preparations were underway to further strengthen security surveillance by installing CCTV cameras.

We have constituted 13 committees to facilitate the devotees and arrangements have been made to mobilise 50 volunteers, Gupta said. 

During Dashain, devotees from different places visit the Rajdevi temple to offer special prayers.
