By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Oct 1: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairma Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has urged to move forward relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction works on war footing by reviewing weaknesses in disaster management.

The chief of the main opposition party said so while inaugurating the volunteer mobilization at landless squatters settlement at Balkhu organized by the Maoist Center party for the work of relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction of the victims of the recent rain-induced disaster.

He blamed the government for failing to stay well prepared to manage disaster despite forecast of the severity of weather, which resulted in a greater scale of damage.

He urged all the people to join hands and forces for relief and rehabilitation at this time of crisis, keeping aside whether one was in the power or the opposition party in the parliament.

He reminded that he played role as the leader of the main opposition party in the aftermath of the great earthquake in 2015 for reconstruction and constitution writing and even at this time he would fully stand with the people in their times of suffering.

Some 417 households of Jagaran area at Balkhu have been affected by the recent flooding.
