By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Oct.1: Nava Raj Bhatta, aka Bhattaguru, is a popular fortune teller.  He is also known as an astrologer of celebrities as the celebrities tend to visit his office to ask him about their future. He predicts their destiny based on their birth chart.

They seek solutions to their problems, Although no one can erase what is written in a person's destiny, the fortune tellers suggest some ritualistic ways to minimise the risk of bad planets on them.

He received a gold medal at the 31st Asian Astrologers Conference held in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India.

Born in Taple in Gorkha Municipality-1, he became popular among the youth. His maternal grandfather was also an astrologer, and Nava Raj became interested in this science in his childhood. Once, when he went to an astrologer, he was surprised when he was told about the previous events in his life. After that, his interest in astrology deepened further.  Many artists visit him before they start any new venture.  Ordinary people,  businessmen and political figures also visit him.

Filmmaker Milan Chams, actor Sabin Shrestha, comedians Kumar Kattel 'Jigri' Arjun Ghimire 'Pande', Harish Niraula 'Kakroch', Kusum Sharma 'Sakambari', and Dinesh Kafle, and cinematographer Sudip Baral regularly take astrological consultations with him.

According to Bhattaguru, face reading and palmistry predictions rarely match. “Even if some things match, it is not like the prediction made by looking at the date and time of birth,” he said.

People, like his parents, come to him and respect him as a guru. At that time, he feels that he has attained perfection with the knowledge he has chosen. Bhattaguru said he took the profession for self-satisfaction rather than earning money.

“What is more satisfying than the respect given by a person equal to parents?'' he said. Bhattaguru also used to host 'Jyotish Netra' on Megha TV and 'Hello Guru', a live programme on astrology on Ramailo TV.
