By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Sept 9: Foreign Minister Dr Arzu Rana Deuba
has expressed commitment to making appointment of ambassadors inclusive.
She said so while responding to the queries of the members of the House
of Representatives (HoR) at the Parliamentary Hearing Committee today about the
lack of inclusiveness in the selection of the ambassadors for 17 different
countries as made by the government recently.

Rana shared that she has also felt the lack of inclusiveness and representation as
expected and viewed that the government has the chance to make improvement when
the parliamentary committees make suggestions.
She also said that although she wanted representatives from the Muslim and the Dalit community in the list of ambassadors but could make so.
The foreign
minister pointed at the need of laws to ensure women representatives in certain
sectors and professions.
"The
government is serious in recommendation of the ambassadors and that in the days
to come, inclusiveness and representation will be taken into consideration
while recommending ambassadors.
She said
that the Cabinet has recently decided to ensure women participation in any
government delegation when the number of delegation is more than one.
Foreign
Minster Dr Rana made it point that she was working to make Nepal's diplomacy in
line with the changing circumstances.
