176 Nepali stranded in Brazil Airport

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Aug.29:  A total of 176 Nepali who had illegally entered Brazil have been left stranded in the transit area of São Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport in Brazil in Brazil.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, they were enticed by the human traffickers with the promise of taking them to the land of dreams, America. 

Spokesperson of MoFA Amrit Bahadur Rai said that efforts are being made to keep Nepali citizens safe at the initiative of the Nepali Embassy in Brazil.  All of them are safe as per the information received by the Embassy.

There was a provision for foreign nationals who arrived in Brazil to get permission to stay there after applying for political asylum, however, this arrangement was canceled only a few days ago which left the 176 Nepali who reached illegally in the land of Brazil left stranded.

Discussion with concerned authorities on making the way on this issue is underway.
