By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Aug.7: A working group consisting of three major parties submitted a report to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli including other top leaders on the provisions to be amended in the bill to amend the Commission for Investigation of Disappearances, Truth, and Reconciliation Act 2071 (TRC) to give it a conclusion on Wednesday.
The report was submitted to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, in the presence of top leaders, President of Nepali Congress (NC) Sher Bahadur Deuba, and Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' on Wednesday.
A working group reached a formal agreement between the three main parties Nepali Congress, CPN (UML), and CPN (Maoist Center) on the provisions to be amended in the bill last Thursday.
According to the agreement reached in the working group, the Ministry of Law had shouldered the responsibility to prepare a draft bill.
After the report of the working group and the draft bill are submitted, the human rights committee will pass it and bring it to the full house for approval.
It is said that the agreement reached in the working group will prove to be a milestone in bringing the peace process to a conclusion.
