Body found under Balkhu bridge

Kathmandu, July 31: The dead body of a man was found under the bride in Balkhu, Kathmandu on Wednesday morning. 

According to the Metropolitan Police Kalimati Circle, the body of 45-year-old Ram Swarup Mahato was recovered under the Balkhu bridge in a washed-away state on Wednesday morning. Having a permanent resident in Banke, Lumbini, he was currently residing in the squatter's settlement around the Balkhu riverbank. 

The body has been sent to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) for postmortem. The relatives of the deceased have come in contact with police. 

The different parts of the Kathmandu Valley have been submerged by the flood triggered by the rainfall of Tuesday night. 

Security personnel have been deployed for rescue as the valley is submerged. Armed police Force (APF) has rescued 15 people trapped by the rainfall in the Radha Swami area in Sundarighat located in Kirtipur Municipality-10.

According to the Co-Spokesperson of the Armed Police Force (APF), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Shailendra Thapa, , all of them have been brought to safety after the rescue. They were rescued with the help of tube and rope.
