'Promoting investment opportunities in Nepal'

Kathmandu, July 15: The Embassy of Nepal in Beijing hosted an investment event 'Promoting Investment Opportunities in Nepal' at the Embassy on Sunday. 

The event aimed at sharing experiences of Chinese organisations that had participated in the Nepal Investment Summit 2024 in Kathmandu.

On the occasion, Ambassador of Nepal to China Binshu Pukar Shrestha highlighted the diverse investment opportunities available across various sectors in Nepal.

He further urged members of the business community of China to invest in Nepal, stressing that such investments would help Nepal's pursuit of socio-economic transformation and capitalize emerging business opportunities for mutual benefits. 

Similarly, Deputy Secretary General of China Overseas Development Association (CODA), Wang Keweng, explained that China has become the largest source of foreign investment for Nepal, creating thousands of job opportunities and delivering tangible benefits to the people of Nepal. 

Sharing CODA's experiences about participating in the Nepal Investment Summit 2024, she further elaborated on Nepal-China development cooperation and stated that the prospects for future cooperation between the two countries are even more promising, reads a press release issued by the Embassy of Nepal, Beijing. 

Likewise, Vice President of the Economic Joint Committee of China Commercial Stock Enterprises, Li Xuesong, underlined about the Chinese government's foreign investment related policy and priorities based on the principle of mutual benefit and win-win cooperation. 

He further expressed willingness to work together with Nepali enterprises to create a better future while sharing positive experiences from Nepal.

Deputy General Manager of Power China Eurasia, Xu Xiaoyun, shared experiences about investing in hydropower sector of Nepal, the statement noted. 

Similarly, Sabita Nakarmi, Counselor at the Embassy made a presentation about the investment climate and opportunities in Nepal.

The event was attended by more than 100 participants including government officials, representatives from various Chinese companies and media persons. -
