Ministry of Culture decorates 47 personalities with awards

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, July 12:The Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation on Thursday decorated 47 personalities with awards of various categories. 

At a programme organised on Thursday, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Hit Bahadur Tamang honoured them with certificates and cash prizes. 

Minister Tamang presented the National and Provincial Talent Award, Mahakavi Devkota Award, B.P Award, Itihas Shiromani Baburam Acharya National Award, Yogmaya National Award, Aadhikavi Bhanu Bhakta National Award, Yugkavi Siddhicharan Shrestha National Award, Satya Mohan Joshi National Award, Puspalal National Award and Bhagat Sarvajit Manav Maryada National Award to various to various personalities. 

The National and Provincial Talent Awards were given in the genres of language and literature, music, drama, culture and fine arts. 

Basanta Bahadur, Barhakoti, Kedar Prasad Pathak, Santa Kumar Shakya and Maila Lama were honoured with the National Talent Award. 

Among the recipients of the provincial talent awards were Ram Bikram Thapa, Raju Maharajan, Bhim Bahadur, Rima KC and Man Bahadur Chaudhary including 28 other personalities. 

Shreehari Phuyal, Roshan Thapa ‘Niraw’, Abinasha Shrestha, Pramod Pradhan and Govindaraj Binod received the Mahakavi Devkota Award.

Sanman Chemjong and Sunil Pokharel were awarded the Gopal Prasad Rimal National Award. 

Kishorkumar Adhikari, Homnath Dahal, Professor Dr. Hari Prasad Parajuli and Professor Yogendra Prasad Yadav were decorated with B.P. Award. 

Professor Dr. Jagdish Chandra Regmi received  Itihas Shiromani Baburam Acharya National Award, Professor Dr. Govinda Man Singh Karki got  Yogmaya National Award, Naryan Sharma (Dahal)  Aadhikavi Bhanu Bhakta National Award, Dr, Phadindra Niraula Yugkavi Siddhicharan Shrestha National Award and Chhatra Bahadur Kayastha got Satya Mohan Joshi National Award. 

Similarly, Siddhilal Singh, Chaturbhuj Aatreya and Dr. Bishownath Singh were awarded the Puspalal National Award. 

Raju Pariyar, Aanadhasorupa Verma, Meghraj Sharma and Jhapendra Bahadur Gharti Chettri were awarded Bhagat Sarvajit Manav Maryada National Award.
