By A Staff Reporter,Butwal, July 8: A cultural programme featuring a variety of activities was organised by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Butwal, Rupandehi district of Lumbini Province on Saturday.

The audience was captivated by performances from a troupe of artists during a musical event held under USAID's 'USAID Learning for Development Outreach Campaign'. Singers Kali Prasad Banskota, Trishna Gurung, Afsar Ali, Samjhana Ranapal, and the Kutumba band were among the performers who entertained the crowd.

In addition to the musical performances, the programme included several sideline events such as mural painting, quizzes and fun games. These activities were designed to inform the public about USAID-funded projects and programmes in Nepal over the past 63 years.

The campaign aimed at raising awareness about the longstanding partnership between Nepal and USAID and sought to gather opinions from participants, especially youth, regarding their aspirations and thoughts on development.

The first programme under the campaign was launched in Badganga, Jitpur, in Kapilvastu district last Friday. The campaign will also reach Lamahi, Kohalpur, and Nepalgunj in Lumbini Province, where over 20 national and local projects related to health, education, economic growth, environment, resilience, democracy, rights, and good governance are being implemented in all 12 districts with USAID assistance.

The campaign will conclude in Kathmandu, later this month.
