Tanahun, July 6: A culvert set up at Sheratar of Shuklagandaki-7 along the Prithvi Highway has been swept away by the flood, causing a disruption in highway traffic.
A flooded stream in the wake of incessant rainfall since Friday night carried away the drain, causing a complete halt in vehicular movement, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Dipak Kumar Ray.
Hundreds of vehicles operate along this highway. A police team left for the incident site immediately after getting the information on road disconnection, he added.
It would take time to resume the traffic.
Meanwhile, a landslip deposited at Mauriodhar of Myagde rural municipality-6 blocked the road. DSP Ray informed that it was difficult to remove the mudflow until the rain stopped. "The landslip is continuous and rainfall poses a threat," he shared.
The district police requested drivers and others concerned to maintain alertness on the highway. (RSS)
