Newly appointed Madhesh CM Singh takes oath

By Dhirendra Prasad Sah, Janakpur, June 7: Chief of Madhesh Province Sumitra Subedi Bhandari administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed Madhesh Province Chief Minister Satish Singh on Friday.

Bhandari appointed Singh as the claim was stocked with the support of the majority of members of two or more parties as per the provision of Article 168 (5) of the Constitution. 

He received the support of 56 members of provincial assembly  (PA) from the CPN (UML), CPN (Maoist Center), CPN (Unified Socialist), Nagarik Unmukti Party and some other fringe parties. 

Singh was elected from Constituency 2 of Saptari. He was elected as the ward chair in Tilathi Koilaldi Rural Municipality from Saptari in the local level election of 2017. However, he lost the post in 2022 local polls.

After this, he became a member of the province assembly from the Janmat Party in the general election of the same year.
