Economic growth rate projected to stand at 3.9 per cent

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 26: The Economic Survey showed that the economy is estimated to grow by 3.9 per cent. 

The economic survey 2080/81 BS presented by Minister of Finance Barsha Man Pun in the House of Representatives (HoR) today unveiled that the increase in the agriculture and service sector has boosted the current fiscal year growth rate despite slight contraction seen in the industrial and construction sector. 

The survey revealed that the per capita income is estimated to reach 1,456 US Dollars this fiscal year (FY).

The average consumer inflation is recorded at 6.7 per cent in the first eight months of the current FY.     

The survey showed that the public debt is recorded Rs 2,388.26 billion in the first eight months of the current FY. The internal debt is recorded 49.6 per cent and external debt is 50.4 per cent in the public debt. 

The survey unveiled that a total of Rs 397.2 billion was transferred to provinces and local levels from federal government and similarly Rs 120.2 billion through revenue sharing.

Finance Minister Pun informed that credit outflow of private sector is increased by 5.6 per cent till the mid-March of the current FY.
