Japan hands over medical equipment to Kathmandu Cancer Center

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Mar 12: Japan has handed over the medical equipment to Kathmandu Cancer Center (KCC) amid a ceremony held Tuesday in Changunarayan Municipality, Bhaktapur.  

Under the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP), Japan supported KCC with medical equipment for $74,033. Japan provided an operating room of KCC with a camera and monitor equipped with operating lights and monitor and a high-performance operating table that can be adjusted in various ways according to the operation's needs.

The Ambassador of Japan to Nepal Kikiuta Yutaka congratulated and expressed his appreciation for the efforts of all those involved in the project.

He emphasized that the project has made it possible to provide higher quality medical services, according to the press release of the Embassy of Japan.

KCC has been providing consultations and treatment to cancer patients but was unable to perform complex surgeries due to the lack of medical equipment.

The Embassy hopes that this project will contribute to the improving response to the high demand for better medical services in the community and further deepen the friendship between the people of Japan and Nepal.
