DPM inaugurated the program by putting helmets on the drivers of public transportation and sticking stickers about awareness of traffic rules in using public transport.

He pointed out that concerned authorities special attention to make quality of roads, mobilizing vehicles as per rules, and enhancing public awareness as they are responsible for reducing accidents.

The lives lost amid road accidents in the last 10 years exceed the lives lost during Maoist insurgency, DPM said that it is the main responsibility of the government to reduce it.

He said, “It is not possible to reduce road accidents by the efforts of one sector or organization, for that, everyone from dispersing license, vehicle rider, and regulation and even public needs to play their part honestly.”

He stressed that regulation bodies need to actively fulfil their responsibilities as a majority of accidents result from human mistakes.
