BY A STAFF REPORTER, Kathmandu, Feb. 22: The Meteorological Forecasting Division has forecast rainfall across the country including Kathmandu for Thursday.
According to the division, a disturbance originating from the western region has expanded nationwide, leading to anticipated light to moderate rainfall throughout.
Pratibha Manandhar, a senior meteorologist at the Meteorological Forecasting Division, said that the system evolved in cloudy conditions nationwide on Wednesday and is expected to persist on Thursday.
Manandhar added, “The system is expected to gradually diminish from Friday, but cloudy conditions will persist for a few more days.”
According to the DHM, light rain is likely to occur in a few places in the Koshi and Madhes Province, and hilly regions of the country, with the possibility of isolated occurrences in other parts.
Additionally, there are chances of light snowfall in some areas of the high-hilly and mountainous regions of the country.
On Wednesday, the minimum temperature in Kathmandu remained at 9.3 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature was recorded at 23.2 degrees Celsius. Additionally, the lowest temperature recorded in Jumla on Wednesday was 0.5 degrees Celsius.
