IPL Auction: SRH grab Cummins for record-breaking 20.50 crore

Dec 19: Australia World Cup-winning captain Pat Cummins, has been auctioned for the Indian Premier League (IPL) with a base price of 2 crore INR.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) quickly entered the bid, and here come Mumbai Indians. A fierce bidding battle between the two and the bid has quickly risen to 4.8 crore with CSK.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are now into the act as they raise the bid to 5 crores, and CSK doesn't take much time to raise their paddle again. RCB ain't backing down. 

RCB stand tall at 7.80 crore. SRH quickly took the bid past 8.40 crore. A bidding war between RCB and SRH and SRH is who takes the bid to 10 crore. 

RCB and SRH both want Cummins big time. SRH have taken the bid to 12 crore. Cummins did not play the IPL last year and was with KKR the year before last. The bid is at 12.75 crore with RCB at the moment and was quickly raised by SRH.

SRH have just raised it to 17 crore. INR 18.5 crore has been breached. Cummins is now the most expensive player in the history of IPL. SRH have breached the 20 crore mark to huge applause in the room. 

The current bid is at INR 20.50 crore with Sunrisers Hyderabad. He became the most expensive player in the history of IPL. (ESPN Cricinfo)
