NC President Deuba expresses sorrow over Mehata's demise

Kathmandu, Dec 18: Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has expressed his deep sorrow over the demise of Sunsari-based party leader Lali Prasad Mehata. 

The party president has, on behalf of himself and the party, extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, wishing for eternal peace to the departed soul, according to a press statement issued by NC Central Office Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel. 

Mehata, also the NC General Convention representative, died at the age of 78. Stating that Mehata had significantly contributed to the strengthening of party organisation and Nepal's democratic movement, the party has said with his demise, the party lost a senior, dedicated and experienced personality.
