33 sacks of illegally smuggled sugar seized

By Kedar Timilsina, Kavre,  Dec. 6: The Area Police Office, Mangaltar has seized 33 sacks of illegally smuggled sugar.  

A team of police led by Police Inspector Pancha Lal Gole, Chief of Area Police Office, Mangaltar, has recovered 33 sacks of illegally brought sugar while patrolling. Stocks of sugar were being illegally carried in a bus with a registration number ( Ba Pra 03 001 Kha 1966) from KhandbarI, Sankhuwasabha to Kathmandu. 

1,650 kgs of sugar stacked in 33 sacks were hidden in the top and deck of the bus and the police recovered it while in patrol check. 

The bus and driver are under the control of the police and further investigation in the matter is underway. 

Lately, the scarcity of sugar has been observed in the market. Many small and large vehicles from Terai have been illegally bringing sugar into the capital through BP Highway.
