Kathmandu, Nov 29: The Nepal Police have requested general public to be cautious saying a group of fraudsters have been defrauding general people in the name of online delivery of goods.
Such fraudsters have robbed the general public of thousands of rupees in the name of online delivery of goods, said the police.
General people should be cautious and not make online payments without the confirmation of the delivery of goods they order, said Deputy Inspector General of Police Kuber Kadayat, the police spokesperson.
"Lately, there has been an increase in the complaints relating to frauds by advertising goods on social media and making customers make advance payments and blocking customers' accounts without delivery. So, when online transacting, people should go ahead only after checking whether or not the relevant page or account is official," he said.
The police have also urged people to report such frauds to the police at the Kathmandu Valley Crime Division, Minbhavan, or the district police office. (RSS)
