Kathmandu, Sept 29: Acting Prime Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka has directed the concerned officials to carryout market monitoring effectively so that exorbitant price hike and black marketing would be controlled.
He issued such directive while garnering information on market morning from the concerned officials on Friday. Acting PM Khadka viewed people were complaining about abnormal price hike of daily essential goods.
The meeting to this was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayankaji Shrestha, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supply Ramesh Rijal, officiating Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Chief District Officer of Kathmandu and Bhaktapur districts, and officers of Department of Commerce, and Department of Food Technology and Quality Control.
During the meeting, market monitoring carried out so far was reviewed. Even a discussion was held on making market monitoring more effective.
On the occasion, DPM Khadka urged the bodies concerned not to allow shortage of daily essentials. Stating that the federal government was ready to provide further support to make the ongoing market monitoring further effective, he suggested the concerned officials that market monitoring could conducted also in coordination with province and local governments.
