Chongqing, Sept 26: Politburo member of the Central Committee of Communist
Party of China (CPC) and secretary of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee Yuan
Jiajun held a meeting with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' in
Chongqing city on Tuesday.
During the meeting held at Yuzhou State Guest Hotel in Chongqing, Prime
Minister Prachanda recalled his virtual talks with CPP central politburo member
Yuan in the past and expressed pleasure in having a meeting with him in person
this time.
On the occasion, PM Prachanda said that he was very impressed by the
development progress in Chongqing at present and its historical contribution in
the liberation struggle in the past.
PM Prachanda is on a weeklong official visit to China and arrived in
this south western city of China this morning.
PM Prachanda appreciated leader Yuan for taking Chongqing forward in
socio-economic development with clear thought and strategies.
In his part, CPC central politburo member Yuan said that meetings held
in the past with PM Prachanda has helped deepen relations. Referring to his
recent visit to Nepal in the invitation of CPN (Maoist Center), when PM
Prachanda was on a visit to Italy, leader Yuan highlighted that issues pertinent
to bilateral interests were discussed during the meeting.
He expressed his readiness to promote mutual cooperation.
During the meeting, PM Prachanda was accompanied by the members of his
delegation including Foreign Minister NP Saud, Water Resource Minister Mahindra
Ray Yadav, Infrastructure Minister Prakash Jwala, chief secretary Dr. Baikuntha
Aryal, Foreign Secretary Bharat Raj Paudel, Chief advisor to PM Prachanda
Haribol Gajurel and PM's press advisor Govinda Acharya.
Earlier in the day, PM Prachanda visited Chongqing Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
On the occasion, the PM and the visiting delegation were briefed about science and technology in modern agriculture system and studied and put into practice by the Academy.
