Kathmandu, Sept 15: President Ramchandra Paudel has presented this year's 'Women in Medicine in Nepal 2023' to five doctors.
At a programme organised at the Rastrapati Bhawan, Sheetal Niwas, today, President Paudel conferred the awards on Dr Archana Amatya, Dr Gita Shakya, Dr Mita Singh, Dr Kokila Baidhya and Dr Pramila Pradhan. They were honoured for their contribution to the field of medical sector, it is said.
Similarly, Dr Dibyashwori Shrestha, Dr Lata Bajracharya, Dr Shova Aryal, Dr Kasturi Malla and Dr Gita Karki Rana have been honoured with the 'Life Time Achievement Award'. President Paudel draped shawls and presented the letter of felicitation to them.
Meanwhile on the occasion, Minister for Health and Population Mohan Bahadur Basnet said the government was always effortful to implement basic services like health and education as guaranteed by the constitution as fundamental rights of citizens.
Saying that it requires substantial quotas in the health sector to further make healthcare effective, he stressed the need for timely focusing on managing required human resources in the health sector in the country. (RSS)
