Gauri Malla comes up with Teej song

By a Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Sept. 7: Singer and actress Gauri Malla has made a return to music with a Teej song ‘Dhin Taka Naka Dhin’.

Malla, who has had a passion for singing since her childhood, has already recorded more than a dozen songs.  However, she has consistently placed her acting career as her top priority over three decades.

In the past, she lent her voice to actress Melina Manandhar in the film ‘Bhai’ as well.

 Now, she has taken a step forward by not only singing but also penning the lyrics and composing music for her new Teej track. Additionally, she has launched her YouTube channel.

The music video features Gauri herself, with actress Mithila Sharma sharing screen space.

 Other artists like Samaira Shrestha, Tenju Yonjan, Neelam Paudel and Simran Sherchan are also featured in the music video. 

Santosh Rajbahak takes the helm as the choreographer and director of the music video with Anju Pokharel Dahal as its producer. 

Speaking at the song release programme held in the capital on Tuesday, veteran actor  Madan Krishna Shrestha praised Malla, highlighting her versatility in dance, singing, and acting. 

Mithila Sharma emphasised her immediate decision to be a part of the song, sidelining other commitments.

Reflecting on her musical journey, Malla shared how an opportunity arose when singer Rachana Rimal could not manage time, and DJ LX encouraged her to step in.

 She confessed to her initial apprehensions about singing, but she is now confident and plans to pursue it further.
