Madhes Province presents policy, programmes

By Our Correspondent,Dhanusha, June 7: Madhes Provincial Government has presented its policy and programmes for the upcoming Fiscal Year 2023/24 at the provincial assembly on Tuesday. On behalf of the province government, Province Chief, Hari Shankar Mishra, presented the policy and programmes at the assembly. 

Poverty alleviation in the province, women’s empowerment, prosperity and good governance have got priority in  the policy document for the next fiscal year.

Agriculture, education, health, environment, tourism and infrastructure sectors have also been prioritised in the government’s policy and programmes. 

Various programmes initiated by the previous government and projects of state pride have been given continuity. The previous government’s programme of black-topping 5 km of roads every year in each provincial election constituency has been continued.

It is mentioned that the work of Madhes Shahid Lokmarga will be carried forward with speed and the Mahendra Narayan Nidhi Housing Programmes operated by the provincial government will also be continued.

In order to reduce the impact of climate change, tree plantation and water source protection in all eight districts of the province will be given priority.
