blog

By Our Correspondent,Myagdi (Beni), May 24: A Bailey Bridge connecting Kalipul, Beni Municipality–8, Myagdi, with Bagarphant, Jaljala Rural Municipality wards 2 and 3, Parbat, finished construction in three months.

Work on the bridge began on March 1, under a contract worth Rs. 16 million the Beni-Jomson-Korala Road Project had signed with Himalayan Builders Beni. The contract required Himalayan Builders to finish work within four months. But work completed a month before the deadline.

However, the bridge is not a new construction. It is a bridge that has been relocated from Pokharebagar where it was lying unused over the Kaligandaki River.

Sanam Shahi, sub-overseer at the contractor company, said that some work needed to be done to protect the bridge from erosion. "Cars will begin driving over the bridge in two weeks," he said.
