By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 18: Tek Nath Rijal, the Bhutanese leader, has been arrested by
the Nepal Police (NP) in the indictment of his involvement in the case of a fake Bhutanese
refugee scam. He is living in Nepal as a Bhutanese refugee.
Dan Bahadur Karki, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP)
at District Police Range, Kathmandu, Area, confirmed the arrest of Bhutanese
leader Rijal.
Police had arrested Rijal on suspicion of his involvement
in sending people as Bhutanese refugees to a third-country settlement. Rijal was
arrested from Jhapa and after questioning in District Police Range, Kathmandu,
Area, he is taken to District court for an extension of time.
According to police, there is the involvement of Rijal in financial transactions in the fake Bhutanese refugee scam.
