Kathmandu, March 17: Indian President Droupadi Murmu made a telephone conversation with the newly-elected President of Nepal, Ram Chandra Paudel, this evening.
President Murmi congratulated
Paudel on being elected the President of Nepal and also extended best wishes
for his successful tenure as the Head-of-the-State.
In the telephonic conversation,
President Murmu expressed happiness on the election of Paudel having consistent
struggle and contributions to the democratic movement of Nepal as the
President, shared Foreign Affairs Advisor to President Paudel, Dr. Suresh
Chandra Chalise.
Both the Presidents shared a common
view that Nepal and India have very close and cordial relations with
century-old cultural, religious, and geographical proximities. They also
expressed confidence that the persisting bilateral relations would further
grow in the days to come.
Also on the occasion, President
Paudel extended an invitation to his Indian counterpart Murmu to visit Nepal
and offer worship at Pashupatinath. (RSS)
