parties have demanded accomplishment of the remaining works related to the comprehensive
peace process (CPA) at the earliest.
The nine splinter political parties of the Maoists
held a press meet today and issued an appeal to this end.
The Maoist parties have made it clear that all the
armed conflicted related cases linked with the transitional justice fall under
the jurisdiction of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC).
"The CPA and the Constitution which has taken the
CPA as its inalienable organ has entrusted the TRC with the responsibility to
settle the cases related to the armed conflict," read the press release.
The press release stated that the remaining works of
the CPA were at the final stage of completion as the essence and spirit of the
CPA and that two commissions-the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the
Commission on Investigation of the Disappeared Citizens-were formed in the past
in line with the CPA and being guided by the principles of transitional
justice.
Vice-Chairperson of the ruling CPN (Maoist Center) Krishna Bahadur Mahara, standing committee member of the CPN (Maoist Revolutionary) CP Gajurel, Vice-Chairperson of the Nepal Samajwadi Party Hisila Yami, general secretary of the CPN Netra Bikram Chand, Chair of Aam Janata Party Prabhu Sah, Coordinator of CPN (Majority) Dharmendra Bastola, general secretary of Communist Party for Scientific Socialism Bishwa Bhakta Dulal Ahuti, Chair of CPN (Maoist Socialist) Karna Jit Budhathoki and general secretary of Maoist Communist Party of Nepal Ram Narayan Pal have undersigned the joint appeal.
