JSP, Janamat, LSP, Nagarik Unmukti Parties' conditional support to govt

Kathmandu, Jan 10: Lawmaker from the Janata Samajbadi Party Ashok Kumar Rai has said a vote of confidence has to be given to the government to fully implement its commitment to achieving economic prosperity along with good governance.     

Taking part in the discussions on the proposal of a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives today, Rai stressed that addressing the problem of unemployment and creating jobs by resolving the existing economic challenges is the main responsibility of the government at present. He also stressed strengthening the republic by protecting political achievements. Lawmakers called for practical implementation of the strong points of the constitution.     

Janamat Party's lawmaker Anita Devi welcomed the government's policy priorities as resolving problems related to citizenship, fertiliser, education, health and employment. She said her party will give a vote of confidence to Prime Minister Dahal, calling for the promotion of balanced development by adopting the concept of inclusive development.     

A Lawmaker from the Loktantrik Samajbadi Party Sarbendra Nath Shukla said that a vote of confidence should be given to the government in order to implement the programme for improvement of the nation's economy brought by the government. He called the attention of the government to resolve the problem related to citizenship.     

Chairperson of the Nagarik Unmukti Party Ranjita Shrestha expressed that her party would stay in the opposition until their demands are fulfilled, although giving the vote of confidence to the government.     

Through the Speaker, she drew the government's attention to immediately release the 'political prisoners' of the Tikapur incident and to make public the Lal Commission's report. (RSS)
