BY A STAFF REPORTER,Kathmandu, Dec. 22: Young poet Binod Bikram KC does not write poetry on the things that are not connected to fight for justice. He raises powerful voice of the voiceless people. Actually, the political anomalies and social injustice make him write the poems.

“I do not write poems, the situations make me write poems,”the promising poet said while reading out around a dozen poems amid a  gathering of poetry lovers at a function titled 'Susela: A poetry concert' organised by Susela Musical Group at Mandala Theatre in New Baneshwore.

“He is a defiant, an anti-conformist poet,” senior poet Bimal Nibha said while he recited a poem Bhok Ko Chhetraphal (An area of hunger) by KC.

Then after, it was poet KC's turn to recite his own poems. Mritak Premi Ko Firad (Story of a Dead Lover) tells the poignant story of Dalit lover Navaraj BK who was killed for loving a so-called high caste girl in Jajarkot two years back. 'Gold Medal' was satirical to hypocrisy of Nepali society. Other poems including Aaja Sir Ko Class Linchha Vidhyarthi, Janda Besya Ko Bayan, Danger Zone, You Are Under CC Camera Surveillance, Candy Cross got huge applause.

Lyricist Bhupal Rai and Shanti Priyabandana recited KC's poems Nepal Sanai Chha Devkotaji (Nepal Is Really Small, Devkotaji) and Guitar Boki Hidne Keti (The Girl With A Guitar) respectively as their favourites.

'KC is a real foot walker of poetry,' Rai commented.KC has many books of poetry, essay and translations including Bhok Ko Chhetraphal and Ventilator Ma Aama to his credit. Meanwhile, Susela Musical Group presented two songs written by KC at the function.
