12 candidates got less than 100 votes in Kavre

By Kedar Timalsina, Kavrepalanchowk, Nov. 27: 12 candidates of Kavrepalanchowk district have received less than 100 votes in the Nov. 20 elections for the members of the House of Representatives (HoR) and Provincial Assembly (PA).

A total of 64 candidates were in the fray for the HoR and PA members' election in the district. 

According to the results of the election, five candidates for the HoR members in Kavrepalanchowk-1, six candidates for HoR in Kavrepalanchowk-2, and a candidate for the PA election in Kavrepalanchowk-1 (B) have gained votes less than 100.

As per the Election Commission's data, in Kavrepalanchowk-1 for HoR member Nepal Workers and Peasants' Party candidate Purna Man Singh Tamang received 94 votes, Rashtriya Prajatantra Party Nepal, candidate Govinda Raj Giri received 85 votes and Loktantrik Samajwadi Party Nepal candidate Prakash Lama gained 46 votes. Independent candidates Rajan Ghorasaine and Madhav Prasad Kandel received 59 and 33 votes respectively. 

Similarly, in Kavrepalanchowk-2 for HoR members, CPN Maoist Socialist candidate Yok Bahadur Ghising and Mangol National Organisation candidate Achamma Lama received 99 and 92 votes respectively. CPN Pariwartan candidate Uttar Kumar Lama, Independent candidates Bodh Nath Neupane and Krishna Khatri, and Sanghiya Loktantrik Rashtriya Manch candidate Vijay Tamang have received 86, 83, 45 and 35 votes respectively. 

Meanwhile, in Kavrepalanchowk-1 (B) for PA member Independent candidate Durga Bahadur Gharti has received 50 votes. 

In Kavrepalanchowk, 17 and 16 candidates had registered candidacies for the HoR member from constituency 1 and 2 respectively.

A total of nine candidates were in the competition in Kavrepalanchowk-1 (B) for PA members.
