Ruling alliance wins HoR polls in Sarlahi-1

Sarlahi, Nov 24: The ruling alliance candidate for the election to the House of Representatives (HoR) in the Sarlahi electoral constituency-1, Ram Prakash Chaudhary of the Loktantrik Samajbadi Party, has emerged victorious.     

He defeated his nearest rival Man Bahadur Khadka by a margin of 6,434 votes to win the election, according to the Office of the Chief Election Officer. Khadka, an outgoing mayor of the Lalbandi municipality, was in the election race as an independent candidate after he could not get a ticket from the CPN (UML).     

Chaudhary, the former inspector of the Nepal Police, obtained 24,838 when Khadka finished the race with 18,404.     

A total of 10 candidates had competed in the federal election from the Sarlahi-1 and the Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal secures the third position with 14,255.  (RSS)
