By Bijay Kumar Shah, Dhalkebar, Nov.22: The vote counting has started in Dhanusha-4.

The vote counting has finally started by resolving a conflict on whether or not people representatives elected in the local election can be included in vote counting.

Even though the ballot boxes from Kshireshwar Secondary School polling station under constituency-5 of Kshireshwornath Municipality were brought for vote counting on the same day of the election, the vote counting was halted because of conflict.

Sudip Kumar Dangal, Chief Returning Officer of the Dhanusha-4, said that there is no clear mention of this issue in the election code of conduct, therefore, the Election commission (EC) has corresponded on this matter.

“We are yet to receive any decision from EC; however, the all-party meeting made a decision to count votes. If the EC will give any decision on the matter, then that will be implemented accordingly. Currently, people representative elected in the local elections is not included in vote counting,” he said.

There are a total of 117,195 voters, while, 80,376 votes have been cast in Dhanusha-4.
